about

Hi, I’m Kells! I’m a writer and photographer living in central Oregon. My journalism has appeared in The New York Times, Bustle, Fortune, and others. On the brand side, I regularly work with Peloton, Calm, and Equinox.

My short fiction has been shortlisted for The Masters Review Summer Short Story Award for New Writers, and I was the recipient of theOffice Fellowship in Santa Monica, California. I’m represented by Nicole Cunningham at Trellis Literary Management.

I’m the founder of earth to kells, a creative consultancy offering editorial services including query editing, essay writing, and pitching. I also shoot engagement and portrait photographs in my home, central Oregon.

I fell in love with film photography in 2021 and haven’t looked back. Nothing captures the preciousness of a moment quite like a grainy, dreamy, nostalgic image.

I love to photograph people in natural environments, so if you want to take engagement photos in the forest or a portrait near the river, I’m in.
